The assessment for the programme involves running an improvement project in your school which lasts at least two terms. This initiative must be aimed at reducing variation in pupil progress and attainment, and improving the efficiency and effectiveness of teaching.

During your programme you will build a portfolio demonstrating how your project meets the assessment criteria. This will be submitted at the end of your programme. Our support and guidance will help you achieve this.

Once submitted, your work will be assessed against the DfE criteria for the award of your NPQSL.

We are currently exploring a flexible and credit based approach to developing your study into a recognised award from Newcastle University. This is under review but we will have further information in September 2017.

"I have just received my results letter stating I have been successful in passing the course. I now feel I can start another chapter in my teaching career, and move forward with self-belief."
